Summary
The goal of the project is the directed influence on instationary flow between a rotor-stator passage of a compressor with adaptive blade geometries to achieve flow control during unsteady fluctuating conditions. Therefore, blades with flaps and adjustable surface curvatures will be modified and their effect on the flow field analysed. In doing so the adaptive flow control is a precondition for solid and efficient compressor working processes in conjunction with the planned pulse detonation engine.
Adaptive blade systems
For the active control of the angle of attack change four adaptive blade systems are studied. These blade systems adjust the stator blades, making them work as ideally as possible despite the misaligned flow.
The adaptive blade systems are a blade with a movable leading edge as a further development of the adjustable blade, the blade with a Gurney flap and the blade with piezoelectric actuators. These can be used to influence the angle of attack changes.
